Dead medium: Non-HTML hypertext authoring systems, circa 1993
Source(s): http://jefferson.village.virginia.edu/elab/hfl0140.html

Reviews of "commercially available software" in three environments (Apple, Windows, DOS) for authoring hypertext, "with the aim of providing recommendations to potential authors." Plus evalutions of a number of important research systems on "workstation" environments.

DOS: Dart, Folio VIEWS, HyperPad, HyperShell, HyperTies, HyperWriter!, Knowledge Pro, LinkWay, Orpheus

Windows: FrameMaker, Guide, Knowledge Pro, PLUS, SmarText, ToolBook, Windows Help Compiler

Apple: FrameMaker, Guide, HyperCard, PLUS, Storyspace

(HyperCard's the only one I know personally. I'm pretty sure it's dead, but what do I know...)
